State of the Schools

The school district holds an annual event to share with the community the current "state of the schools," similar to a State of the Union address. The Superintendent and the Chair of the School Board share the stage and speak in a back-and-forth fashion to recap the previous year and highlight what's on the horizon. The Chair asked me to write the 2024 scripts for both her and the Superintendent, with an emphasis on including some of the concerns the district had as opposed to just the "good news" that's been shared in the past. This required a significant amount of research and data gathering, navigation of politics, and an incorporation of two different executive voices working in unison to tell a story.
